Travel Grants
The WGA offers travel grants to ophthalmologists and residents under 40 years of age from economically underprivileged countries.
The following conditions must be met to apply for a travel grant:
- Applicant must be under 40 years of age
- Applicant must be from a country classified by the World Bank as lower-middle-income or low-income economies (see list here).
- A CV and motivation letter must be submitted along with the abstract in final submission, explaining the special interest in glaucoma and how participation would benefit the professional goals of the applicant.
Travel grants will be awarded based on the quality of the abstract and need.
Travel Grant application is part of the abstract submission process. Please indicate that you wish to apply for a travel grant during the online abstract submission process.
The grant will consist of a monetary amount and a waived registration fee.
Travel grant recipients will be notified and provided with a dedicated link to register, free of charge at the end of January 2025.
