Submission guidelines
- Abstract title: The title should be brief, and interesting and describe the focus of your research.
- Format: The abstract content should not exceed 2500 characters including spaces and punctuation.
- Structure: Abstracts should be structured as follows: Purpose, Methods, Results, Conclusion.
- Language: Abstracts should be submitted in English. Please take time to review spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
- Method: Abstracts can be submitted via the online Abstract Submission Platform only. Abstracts sent by email will not be accepted.
- Draft: You can create your abstract and temporarily leave it in a draft. All drafts need to be saved as final submissions by the submission deadline.
- Changes: Once submitted, it is not possible to make any corrections to the abstract content or information (such as authors list and details, topic, conclusion(s), etc…).
- Authors: A presenting author can submit more than 1 abstract as presenting author.
Publication Policy
By submitting an abstract to the World Glaucoma Congress (WGC), authors agree to grant the Journal of Glaucoma (the official journal of the World Glaucoma Association) the exclusive right of first refusal to consider the full, original manuscript for publication.
If an abstract is accepted for presentation at the World Glaucoma Congress, the corresponding full manuscript must first be submitted to the Journal of Glaucoma for consideration. The manuscript must not be submitted to another journal until the Journal of Glaucoma has formally declined publication or the manuscript has been formally withdrawn from consideration.
Acceptance of an abstract constitutes the authors’ agreement to comply with this publication policy. Failure to comply may result in withdrawal of the abstract from the Congress proceedings and may affect eligibility for presentation at future World Glaucoma Congresses.
Acceptance & presentation opportunities
All abstracts received by the indicated deadline will be evaluated by the Program Planning Committee. Acceptance, together with technical details for presentation (oral or poster presentation), will be notified to the presenting author by the end of November 2026.
