The World Glaucoma Association (WGA) General Assembly will take place on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, during the 9th World Glaucoma E-Congress. All WGC-2021 participants are welcome to attend the General Assembly as observers. The WGA Member Societies have received an invitation via email to register their official representative. About the General Assembly

From the WGA Statutes:

“Article 4


The General Assembly, consisting of the Active Members delegates, is the highest authority of the Association.

The General Assembly has all the powers which are not imparted to another corporate body by these Statutes.

In particular, the General Assembly has the power to control the activity of the Association (release of the Board of Governors, vote on the accounts, etc.), to elect the President of the Board of Governors (who also is the President of the Association) and the other Governors, to elect the Members of the Finance and Audit Committee, to amend the Statutes and to decide on the dissolution of the Association.”

How to attend

Access to the 2021 WGA General Assembly is via the WGC-2021 online platform. To attend the General Assembly, you must be a registered congress delegate. Only official representatives of Member Societies that have registered for the General Assembly by Thursday, June 22, midnight CEST, have voting rights. Only one (1) official representative per WGA Member Society has voting rights.
